Our Pre-K class has a student to teacher ratio of no greater than 8:1, and centers on an age-appropriate foundation in science, art, and an exploration of the world around them.
Pre-K Admission Requirements
This program is open to children who will be 4 by September 30, are toilet trained, and independent and self-sufficient in the bathroom.
Pre-K Program
Our Pre-K program assists your child in continuing mastery of the skills needed for successful entry into Kindergarten, such as group-cooperation skills, communication skills, greater independence, and increased self-reliance.
Our Pre-K program utilizes a great curriculum, Get Set for School, that introduces reading and math to your child. This curriculum features engaging and enjoyable activities, using proven and research-based methods.
The Get Set for School “Readiness and Writing” and “Language and Literacy” curricula feature a format that emphasizes the joy of learning and includes:
- mastering cooperation skills
- learning how to take turns
- listening skills
- speaking skills
- vocabulary development
- letter recognition and phonemic awareness
- fine motor skill development
- age-appropriate writing skills
The math portion of Get Set for School helps children gain skills while maintaining a learning environment that follows a child’s natural curiosity and interest, including:
- number sense
- counting
- spatial awareness
- patterning
- sequencing
- problem solving
Music
Our custom music curriculum focuses on the joy of singing and music appreciation, and provides an age-appropriate foundation of hymns and songs. Music time will be a great part of your child’s day, and our children will have many opportunities to sing both in the classroom and in church.
Piano lessons are also available to students who are age four years-old and up. Please see the Director for information.
